Baptism

You can be baptised at any age but traditionally parents have brought their children to be baptised. A child is a precious gift from God. We want the very best for them, and we want to welcome them and their family to the church.

A baptism is the beginning of a lifetime’s journey and the church welcomes the opportunity to share in that with you and your child, helping them to learn more about their Christian faith and what it means for them.

If you live in the parish of Selworthy you can always have your child baptised at All Saints and it’s good to make a connection locally so your child’s church family is nearby. Or, if you have a strong family link to the church, you may ask the Rector about having a baptism there.

Initially please phone the church office in Porlock or the Rector to discuss the possibility of a baptism and make the necessary arrangements. The minister taking the service will want to meet you to talk through the service with you and answer any questions you may have.
